Spring Colour from Loftman Coop Umeda

Words

It's always a little disorientating to see the first splashes of colour, as the spring collections begin to arrive. Eventually though, those feelings give way to excitement and the realization that warmer climates and brighter clothes are not too far away. Loftman have done an excellent job styling together some of these brighter spring items alongside more muted autumn tones, as a lead-in to the season ahead.

Sierra Designs x Pendleton

Words

We've seen a few of the North West inspired brands make an appearance in the western world now, Crescent Down Works and Mt Rainier Design are quickly becoming the standard, but Sierra Designs still seem just beyond reach most of the time. This version of their classic 60/40 mountain parka is made with Pendleton wool, which accents the exterior green nicely and adds something extra in terms of style and warmth to an already great jacket.

Available at Takanna in Small & Medium

Look | Fall Sunday

look-fall-sundayIt seemed like it was about time for another curated Sunday outfit. Built for milling around town, carrying some firewood, drinking multiple cups of Joe and fixing a set of French doors - this outfit is comfortable and easy to wear and should get you through any weekend event. The items feel sort of thrown together in terms of their color and different array of materials, but that's kind of how my Sunday's are. The EG workaday cords just jumped onto my must buy list while the other items are all classic stand alone pieces. Woolrich shirt, Barbour vest, Alden boots, Scala bucket hat, WM socks and Sierra Designs parka. You can strip down the layers if need be but at this time of year scarves and gloves aren't needed, just some corduroy, wool and water repellent materials for an easy indoor-outdoor ensemble.

Sierra Designs Jackpot

Well the hunt didn't last long. To be honest, even with a relatively decent price and a Japanese proxy ready and waiting, I am hesitating on the $350 US tag. It's a solid deal, don't get me wrong, but since I am not pulling the trigger and there is a pretty good stock - I thought I would share the find. These ones aren't vintage and don't have the plaid liner, otherwise they are really, really dope. Perfect parkas. I think I would personally go with the green or red. As I said a couple posts back, these are the best parkas. Classic, look great, perfect colors, wearable forever. Available here - yes, it's in Japan.

Sierra Designs Vintage Parka

I saw this Sierra Designs parka over at A Continuous Lean today and pretty much am in love. Between the plaid lining, the navy color, perfect pockets and soft lighting and white background, I need this coat - or at least one really close to it. I have obviously been speaking on several parks in the last month or two and probably the nicest ones that released this winter were definitely modeled after this (by Haversack and HP+ and Traverse). It was mentioned that Engineered Garments had a similar one as well but I never came across it so I can't really comment. I do think Supreme's mountain parka is another good choice. Anyways, back to this Sierra Designs piece. It's great, it's what the rest are modeled after and if you can track one of these down, you're a lucky guy. Let the eBaying begin...
