Words

The Bureau have just released a new make up from Alden. While the boots might not be your ideal summer shoe, they are pretty nice looking and the combination of the suede and the plantation crepe sole look great together.

Tricker's for The Bureau Woodland Polo Chukka

Words

I haven't seen too many chukka boots from Tricker's myself, but the general shape of these special make-ups for The Bureau look quite nice. I think the silhouette of the upper is very nice, and it feels nicely refined, but the more rugged crepe sole makes it still feel casual. The crepe looks a bit bulky in the images, but I think once you're wearing them, and it wears down a little, it would look perfect.

RRL @ The Bureau

Words

It seems like a few UK retailers have picked up RRL in the last season or two - which is good news. It's one of the more rare menswear brands and you have to dig a little to find it because it isn't that widely available. In light of that, it's interesting to see a few shops putting images online. I can't imagine it will hurt the brand in the long run, and it's nice to see a little more of the product if you don't live in one of the few cities where it's available.

Engineered Garments Knit Shawl Cardigan

Navy jersey knit Shawl Collar Cardigan One of my favorite knit pieces by Engineered Garments is definitely the shawl cardigan. It's not your normal cardigan with the straight bottom, high buttons and shapeless cut. However I think it's shape lends itself really nicely to the art of layering as a BD shirt is able to poke out the bottom and show some cuff with ease. The shape of it also fits like a glove within the outer shell of a Bird Shooter jacket. That said, I unfortunately missed my chances to pick up the sweater last fall even though it was made a a variety of great greys. This spring The Bureau have managed to score an exclusive colour in the knit cardigan, which just so happens to be the best version of it. The rich blue fleece looks perfect and would be an easy partner to any jacket and shirt combination. I'm not sure how many they have, but I would expect them to go fairly quickly – priced at £135.

Tricker's Green Suede Kendal

Tricker's Turf Green Suede Kendal For those of you who didn't see The Bureau's spring stock from Tricker's, it's definitely worth a look. While the red brick sole has become nearly as common as boat shoes, I'm not really one to shy away from something I know I like even if everybody and their brother like it too. The red brick sole will always have its place and I feel that it's best paired on a cleanly designed buck in suede. Besides navy and white, olive is probably next on my list. It hasn't been a common pairing for the most part until this spring and The Bureau have commissioned Tricker's to make the latest rendition. I would find myself some olive green laces to put in as soon as possible, but besides that the shoes are perfect. Tricker's are well known to make some of the best shoes available and I'm not surprised to see they've done this lovely combination more than justice.
