Barena Cargo Shorts

01

Images

—01. Available in navy, olive, stone and khaki.

Words

The Barena collection is slowly building season after season, and while it has developed some signature piece, these simple side pocket shots are some of the most appealing. I think you either want your shorts to be very basic and plain, or have an interesting color or pattern on them. These definitely fall into the first category, but would probably get worn a ton in the months to come.

Words

With our 4th issue around the corner, we're excited about the strong group of contributors the magazine now has. The stories and images in the upcoming issue are really exciting, and I can't wait to see it on the shelf. In the meantime however, Patrick Long, who has contributed illustrations to our latest installment of 'Illustrated Examples' has whipped up a couple illustrations of our staff here at Inventory. As a little preview of his style, and a heads up that issue 04 will be arriving soon, enjoy.

Mt. Rainier Design Spring Outerwear

Words

We've got some more nice spring outwear by way of Japanese label, Mt. Rainier Design. At least these pieces are now available in North America however. The 60/40 jackets coming in khaki, green and b.grey, and all of the spring jackets we have come lined in a washed out herringbone camo. The fabric is very soft, and the jackets have been well looked after; snap buttons, leather toggles, clean zips and useful pocketing. The pull over anorak is also reversible, should you feel inclined. The jacket are very well made, from American 60/40 fabrics, and fit quite nicely too.

Nanamica Blue Gore-Tex Cruiser Jacket

01

Images

—01. Waterproof, lightweight cotton jacket with contrast stitching.

Words

There have been a lot of great shades of blue popping up this spring. Nanamica tend to keep it pretty mellow a lot of the time, but this electric blue looks great for a spring jacket. It's different enough from the color of your denim, so that I think you could wear it all the time. It would pop very nicely with khaki as well. Oh ya, and it's made in waterproof Gore-Tex.

Gitman Bros. Spring Shirting

01

Images

—01. Pastel Broadcloth Check.
—02. Rolled up sleeve detail.

Words

Gitman Bros. spring shirts have started to hit a lot of their accounts. The season's offering is one of my favorites so far, as there are more interesting plaids, nice Japanese organics, linen chambray blends and a new button up sleeve detail. I have always liked old Ralph Lauren BD's in this sort of pastel colour, so its not surprising the wide check looks great on Gitman's spring shirt.

The best in Canadian made jersey knits are back in stock. We just received a large delivery of National Anthem and Homespun items in time for the spring season. From National Anthem, we have pocket tees and Russian Sailor shirts in a variety of stripe colours. With Homespun, we have two classic Henley styles made with their slub terry cotton. The products are all made in Vancouver, Canada and are some of the nicest, mid-weight cotton goods you'll come across. We'll have measurements online shortly, but the garments generally fit one size small, as it is generally made for the Japanese market. Words

Last Sunday saw the bi-annual South London edition of Mid-Century Modern at Dulwich College. If you're not familiar with the event the best way I could describe it is it's a kind of Pop Up Flea for Mid-Century modern furniture and accessories. The show brings together the very best of the UK's Mid-Century furniture dealers and puts them under one roof for the day giving the buying public the biggest selection of 50s, 60s and 70s Scandinavian and Scandinavian influenced interior furnishings anywhere in the country.
