A.P.C. Fall Miltary Jacket

Words

Unsurprisingly A.P.C. have put out another camo jacket for the fall season. This particular style usually captures my attention as I've been on the fence about buying something similar for a while. I love the camouflage pattern combined with a corduroy collar. With simple buttons, a nice tartan lining and what is likely to be a cotton twill exterior, this fall's offering is a nice way to add the pattern to your closet.

Woolrich Woolen Mills Maine Guide Jacket

01

Images

—01. Maine Guide jacket in black/blue plaid pattern, 100% wool.

Words

The Maine Guide jacket is arguably the best piece in the Woolrich Woolen Mills collection, especially in the fall. It's been seen in a number of fabrics over the last few years, but the use of black and blue this fall - inspired by Daiki's early memories of Comme des Garcons - may make these the best renditions yet. While The Bureau have the plaid and the plain navy, they didn't pick up what might be my favorite version: the black and blue stripe. I would happily wear either of the three though, and hope to pick up at least one this fall.

Quoddy Khaki Suede Maliseet Oxfords

01

Words

When I was in New York last week I saw more Quoddy footwear on the streets than anything else. Leathers, red brick soles, white boat soles, suedes - every combination you could think of. Leffot recently offered their clients the opportunity to make up their own Quoddy moccasins and these tan suede Maliseet oxfords are one of the best I've seen. The colour combination is clean and subtle, and feels perfect for the summer.

2nd Magazine: Red Wing Issue

Words

2nd magazine have been putting out some great issues lately and showing a little more editorial depth in their features and photography than the more popular Free & Easy. While both magazines have their place, 2nd has been particularly grabbing my attention lately. This special edition issue focuses soley on one of the best boot companies of our time: Red Wing. 'The Red Wing Book' looks at the company, its rise in popularity and some of Japan's biggest collectors. The brand is one of my personal favorites so this book will be a must have for the shelf.

Pillows & Totes

Words

Wayne Pate has been keeping busy these days with a couple of different side projects. Aside from his illustration work, he recently picked out some great looking fabrics to make up some pillows and tote bags. I particularly like the floral and polka dot fabrics used on the pillows. These aren't something I am often looking for, but when the right fabric and the right pattern come along, it's hard to resist a little something for the home, rather than my back.

Sassafras Wool Ball Cap

01

Images

—01. 100% Wool.
—02. Made in the USA.

Words

Sassafras haven't shown us too many collaborations or accessories but this wool ball cap is great. The almost ratty looking lettering offers a nice reference to the Giants while also representing the brand's initials. It's made by Cooperstown Ball Cap Co. in the USA and is a nice alternative to something by Ebbets Field Flannels.

Preview: Unis Fall Collection

01

Images

—01. Long trench coat.
—02. Nice pop of colour.

Words

New York brand Unis is preparing to finish off their fall production and launch the new collection in stores. Over the years Unis has been known for the refined basics and now that the Felix shirt and Gio chinos are down, this fall was an opportunity to add some more colour through outer layers and shells. With pops of blue and orange, the collection is nicely accented but still remains about those core items that need to be in every guys closet.

In stock | Viberg 145 Oxford

—01. Tan rough-out leather, Vibram sole, leather laces

Words

Our latest addition to the Stockroom comes from a brand in our own backyard. Based in Victoria, B.C. Viberg Boots has been making footwear for over seventy years. The brand has been catching our eye for the last few years thanks to its relationship with a number of high profile Asian brands. We were very excited to get the chance to add one of our own to their long list of custom make-ups, and we couldn't be happier with how it came out. We chose to make the 145 Oxford boot which is a lower version of the iconic 36 Bobcat. The height felt better suited for the time of the year which we took into consideration when deciding on colour/material as well. The rough-out leather in tan is a perfect light colour right now and the texture of the reversed leather is amazing without sacrificing durability. We also left out the fibreglass box toe for a more comfortable feel. The coup de grace for us was swapping out the usual sole unit in favor of a white Vibram Christy. The result is a beautiful boot that's going to age well and last for many many years to come.
