The Real McCoy's x Champion

01

Images

Words

Simple and plain, at least at first glance. I now know from experience that making something really good, that's seemingly simple and straight forward, is not really that easy. The Real McCoy's have mastered it however, and whether they have a difficult time or not, the end product is always incredible. Whether it's their own grey sweatshirts, the watch caps or these Champion t-shirts, I find myself continually impressed with what appear to be very unimpressive items. These heavy weight loopwheeled Champion tees are made in the USA, feel amazing and fit great.

Double Corduroy

Words

While I am a fan of Fantastic Man and I think it's a beautifully designed publication and brand, I don't often find much personal inspiration from the fashion featured. However, today's Daily Recommendation is a great look featuring some of my favorite brands, and combining a couple of corduroy pieces. The double corduroy maneuver is a tricky one and it could easily go wrong, but I like how they kept it simple with a clean crew neck sweat. Now, for the choice of footwear...

Drake's Fall Goods

01

Images

—01. Wool, cashmere, plaid & polka dot.

Words

When fall rolls in, I'm always happy to bring out a few warm accessories. Drakes is one of the best when it comes to scarves, ties, throws and any other small bits to get you through the colder, wetter months. Their classic designs have taken on a few interesting twists in recent seasons but the palette is always great and its tough to find much wrong with anything they produce. Sure, you might be able to find some of these items for cheaper, but they probably wouldn't be as good.

Diemme continue to produce new colors this fall, but now they've added the renowned Vibram Cristy sole unit with the Morflex technology. The lightweight, comfortable soles link up nicely with the Italian-made hiking boots.

Words

A couple of our friends in Sweden have got together to open a shop. Tres Bien and Our Legacy have had a strong relationship for a long time now so it makes sense for them to join forces in Stockholm. The store is very clean, uses the space nicely and will no doubt be a success with the loyal following both brands have built over the past few years. You should also be able to find the new issue of Inventory on their shelves in the coming weeks too.

Fullcount Workshirt

01

Images

—01. Great natural colour for Fall.
—02. Chinstrap detail.
—03. Nice textures.

Words

Earlier this year I remember getting excited for some fall shirting in fabrics like muslin and chamois, as a bit of a change from what was available last winter. This version of the always-classic work shirt isn’t quite as uncommon as those in terms of fabric — it’s just flannel. What I like though is that it’s just a single colour instead of plaid, which is a departure from most other flannels. The nice organic cotton is a great off-white colour and it’d fit in nicely with the browns and earth tones I find myself wearing a lot of lately. It's still got those familiar outdoor references but isn't something you see everyday.

Mark McNairy Gibson Shoe

01

Images

—01. Made in England.

Words

Another suede shoe on another Vibram sole - another great looking piece of footwear. The red brick sole might be the trademark of Mark McNairy, but it's not an ideal choice for the winter. These still have a clean upper, tidy welt and feature a great looking suede while offering a little more toughness with the thicker, more dense sole unit.

Katsu Naito has worked a handful of jobs since he came to the US. We met him a couple of years ago at Capsule in New York, as he now works alongside Takeshi Ohfuchi at Post Overalls. He was always quick to notice our cameras and talk about photography in the booth. With his curious attitude and interesting perspective, he's captured a unique look at New York's street culture and the people he's come across. Today he opens a photography exhibition titled 'West Side Rendezvous' at the Nepenthes New York store in Hell's Kitchen.
