This project was inspired by a feature about Woolrich Woolen Mills we did for the fourth issue of the magazine. The story focused on Daiki Suzuki, the brand's designer for the first ten seasons, and Mark McNairy, his successor. Following on from that we decided to make two special Woolrich Woolen Mills pieces - the Cruiser Shirt from Daiki's time at the helm, and the Woody Shirt from Mark's first collection. Produced in two weights of navy blue wool, and offset by mother of pearl buttons, the shirts offer a classic aesthetic and showcase what Woolrich is best known for: beautifully made American wool.

From the paper to the plates to the pigmentation, printing a publication is a pretty portly process. We've spent a significant amount of time at the printers in the last few years on press check, an interesting and enlightening experience that not too many people get to see. This time around we shot some footage and made this little behind the scenes video of the printing of Issue 04. Printed at Hemlock Printers in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

We're proud to release our latest issue this Friday, April 29th at Neighbour in Vancouver. The Spring-Summer 2011 issue is filled with beautiful photography, great stories and again, 6+ months of hard work from our small team. It feels like it's been a long time coming, or maybe it's just been a long month. Either way, Issue 04 is finally just around the corner. It will finish printing early this week and will be on the shelves only a week later. I'm extremely excited about our 4th installment, both for the beautiful photography and the great stories, but also because the stress levels can go back down a notch from being dangerously high, to moderately high – which is normal at least. If you haven't already seen the covers, they were previewed on Julien Strangler last week, have a look here.

With our 4th issue around the corner, we're excited about the strong group of contributors the magazine now has. The stories and images in the upcoming issue are really exciting, and I can't wait to see it on the shelf. In the meantime however, Patrick Long, who has contributed illustrations to our latest installment of 'Illustrated Examples' has whipped up a couple illustrations of our staff here at Inventory. As a little preview of his style, and a heads up that issue 04 will be arriving soon, enjoy.

The recent feature on Hypebeast takes a look at the current market for printed content. They spoke to a few editors of new publications to find out the different approaches, angles and ways of getting niche content to a niche market. We were lucky enough to be included in the piece, which also features a couple behind the scenes photos by Chris Allen.

2010 has been a very excited and busy year for us. It's been one of the most fun of my life personally and I want to thank all of those who we worked with over the last year, those who helped us out and those who supported us. We've got lots planned for 2011 and don't plan on slowing down anytime soon. On behalf of Inventory, I'd like to wish the best 2011 to all of our readers, supporters and contributors, and say thanks for a great 2010.
