A couple months ago we had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Nate Humble on his trip to Vancouver, BC. He had been doing his West Coast sales trip and we were finally able to track him down with the opening of the Inventory Stockroom around the corner. The American shoe makers have seen a recent rise in popularity among the younger crowd in America, and while it's something Alden are quick to admit, it's not something they are quick to cash in on. They've always believed in working slow and steady to keep the factory running and maintain a healthy business. They pick and choose their stockists carefully and their special make ups even more so. It was a pleasant experience going through the swatches and possibilities with Nate and I'm definitely looking forward to doing it again soon.

Superior Labor is definitely more known for their work with canvas, specifically with their bags. Through some of the toughest and most utilitarian totes on the market, the Japanese brand has started to make its way into the North American market via J.Crew. However, the brand does much more and produces a fair sized soft goods collection along with a variety of accessories and items like this combo dish set. The colors are great, it comes in a nice Superior Labor branded bag and they just might be the best option to have around the house or outdoors for the summer.

As you've probably noticed the new Inventory website is now up and running. The change over went quite smoothly but there will still be a couple more changes as we finish the last of the updates. The updates will continue as usual with daily posts, we will be updating the Features section fairly regularly and we've updated the Stockroom with some new products. Gitman Bros. for Monocle

Gitman Bros. have quickly been adding to their list of collaborators in the last couple seasons and the latest to join the ranks is one of my favorite magazines, Monocle. Of course, they aren’t the first publication to work with Gitman, but they have produced Gitman’s first pop over BD shirt in the process. The shirts come in navy, white and blue and offer the first ‘new’ Gitman shirt since the brand’s recent insurgence in menswear.

Engineered Garments Spring Workaday Oxfords

Some of my favorite items in the closet are my Engineered Garments Workaday oxfords. They’re sturdy, built well and have a nice casual silhouette. The fabrics are always tough and have a nice amount of character and feel. Over the last few season we’ve only seen white, blue and stripes – but this spring there are a couple of fresh colors added to the mix. Not many shops will be getting the Workaday products, but The Bureau now have the yellow and pink oxfords in stock.

One of my favorite fabrics that Engineered Garments used this spring was this rich red linen. It wasn’t used on too many items but the Cambridge pants and the Fatigue shorts both received the bright tonal treatment. While I ended up ordering the red pants, I am now having a slightly hard time wearing them as there is just so much of the bright red color. The shorts however offer the same pop, but in a more manageable dose. I’m still undecided whether to tough it out and try through the summer or convert the pants into a shorter version before it gets too hot.

Porter Bi-Fold Wallets

Earlier this spring Porter released some of the finest looking wallets I’ve seen lately. The Bi-Fold wallets are made from premium leather and soaked in water to give it a worn and oiled look. The result is essentially the perfect wallet. The size and zipper function make the wallet very useful and good a keeping your financials safe, while also looking great and being easy to carry. I have had a tough time finding the perfect wallet and this would likely be my choice if the price were a little more accessible. Available at Nomad and Stuart & Wright.

Drake's Gingham Silk Scarves

While the summer scarf might not be an essential for everyone, Drakes continue to expand their warm weather range this season with a nice collection of silk gingham options. When it comes to gingham, it’s pretty tough to beat red or navy, so it’s no surprise that these are my favorites. C’HC’M’ just received these along with some nice polka dot patterned scarves as well.
