Words

New York-based photographer JIMA has been contributing to the Column section on the Nepenthes website since mid-May. Although I'm not able to read his handwritten entries, I've been enjoying the candid imagery that accompanies them, and look forward to seeing more as his Manhattan diary develops.

Words

Combining a variety of stripes and polkadots, these Rough & Tumble button-downs are produced in the US by Nepenthes. While the mix of different patterns is quite adventurous, the use of blue and white helps to keep things as classic as possible, and the outcome is a great short-sleeved summer shirt.

Words

To coincide with the release of our latest issue, featuring a cover story on Dean Edmonds, we asked the emerging English designer to create a small selection of products for us. Available from our pop-up shop at Nepenthes New York, four items have been produced in a mix of raw and clear coated steel: a lamp, a bookend, an incense holder and assorted candlesticks. Follow the link below for additional imagery of each piece, as well as other examples of Dean's work.

Words

Having been produced in New Zealand since 1890, Mainland Boots offer a reliable, well-made alternative to the more popular casual work shoes out there. Rough-out leather and a Vibram 2021 sole is always a desirable combination, but the antique finished welt and cushioned insole add uniqueness and comfort to a staple silhouette.
